DELIA's HOMECOMING/CHRISTMAS/FOAL SEASON KICK-OFF PARTY
Delia is a race horse. Yes, it is strange for a horse rescue to assocated with a race horse. Delia is a special case. She was bred to run. Her breeders, Delta Farm, was forced to shut down operations after the owner/trainer died. She was the last of the babies born. Our friend Joan wanted to donate Delia to the rescue. However, she also wanted to see the last baby run. Rick agreed to provide for her training to give her a chance. Delia has been running in small races at ThistleDowns and Beulah Park since fall of 2009. She has won 2 races so far! Though they were small races, we are very proud of her. This will be the first time she is close enough for all of our friends to come and see her.
On December 13th Delia will be racing at Turfway Park in Northern Kentucky. We are not sure what time she will be racing yet. It is an open invitation party. Everyone is welcome to attend: friends, family, friends of friends etc. But please RSVP below to get on the list to come to the party for no charge. (Food will be ordered 5 days prior to the event based on the total count of RSVPs). You may attend if you did not RSVP, but the ticket to get in the door will be $5 per person. We will be hosting the event in the Terrace room on the 3rd floor. There will be plenty of free hors d'oeuveres from all afternoon and Christmas fudge snacks for those with a sweet tooth.
For those who are Bengals Fans.... There will be several large TV's set up showing football.
We will also be holding a silent auction to raise funds for the 2010 orphan foal program.. Each baby costs about $200. We hope to raise enough to save 5 babies. Sooo... we need A LOT of items to auction away. SEE SILENT AUCTION ITEMS LISTED OR DONATE AN ITEM. We will need quite a few more items to save 5 babies. I would encourage each and everyone who has been touched by the barn to create a theme basket (auto, movie, grocery, business related, books, etc.)
A continuous video presentation of the progress of Beechmont Stables & Equi-kids will be shown that evening. If you have pictures of a horse rescued and want us to include a before and after pic in the presentation, please send it by Dec 10th.
